Big Trees State Park Calaveras Big Trees is a top destination of the Motherlode area. Open year round the park offers hiking and walking trails, fishing, river access, and camping, along with a visitors center and museum. The park offers numerous campsites during summer months and cabin rentals are also available. Named for the spectacular giant sequoia trees, the Park is home to the largest trees in the world which has created the longest continuously operating tourist attraction in California! The state park is located north of Arnold on Hwy 4, the North Grove trail is wheel chair accessible and is a beautiful way to see the trees.
