From January to December, Sonora hosts events every year including a spring festival, an annual Celtic Faire, Rodeo and Roundup Parade and a Christmas Parade. Murphy’s, Twain Harte, Groveland and Angels Camp also host events so there is always something exciting happening in the Motherlode.

March
Sonora Celtic Faire is a multi day festival held every March at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds with music food and entertainment.

Murphy’s Irish day Celebration Held on the third Saturday in March this is a full day of food fun and entertainment

April
The Sonora Spring Festival
The Sonora Home and garden Show at the fairgrounds

May
The Motherlode Roundup Parade This is an annual event that takes place every May in Downtown Sonora
The MotherLode Rodeo
The Calaveras County Fair & Jumping Frog Jubilee A short lived but full fledged fair held on the third weekend in May

The Arnold Spring Peddlers fair Antiques Collectibles Show

Columbia’s Annual fathers day Fly-In  (Annual Air Show)

July
July 4th Fireworks Ironstone in Murphy’s offers concerts,  food,  drinks and kids activities during the day and fireworks at night in the biggest Independence day celebration in the area.
Lake Don Pedro Also offers a fireworks show and activities on July 4th.
The Twain Harte independence day parade takes place downtown Twain Harte.
The Twain Harte Summer Arts & Wine Festival
Bear Valley Music Festival in Bear Valley is a multi day concert and musical event

The Mother Lode Fair takes place early July in Sonora at the Mother Lode Fair grounds.

August
Possum Chasing Festival in Big Oak Flat (first Saturday)
Strawberry Music Festival in Tuolumne is a multi day event / concert  Held late August to early September annually
Angels Camp Annual Red Dirt and Gold Dust Music Festival ( that just about says it all, now doesn’t it?)

The Annual 49er Festival and Chili Cook-off in Groveland
Annual LABOR DAY WEEKEND Arts & Crafts festival in Arnold
Columbia’s annual Art Show Downtown historical Columbia
September is the time for the San Andreas Annual Oktoberfest in Valley Springs

The Annual Calaveras Grape Stomp and Gold Rush Street Faire in Murphy’s
Twain Harte Craft fair is a smaller event with local arts and crafts in Twain Harte
The Annual Sonora Bach Festival

Murphys Day of the Dead is a popular event based on traditions from the Mexican Dia de Los Muertos (1st Saturday)
The Sonora Christmas Craft and Music Festival at the Motherlode Fairgrounds
