Pinecrest Lake sits at an elevation of 5600 ft. right off of CA Highway 108. It is approximately 30 miles from Sonora and just below the town of Strawberry. Pincers lake is a popular camping destination and is the largest camp ground in the area. The recreation areas surrounding the lake and camp ground are both popular with locals and visitors and the lake can be very crowded during the peak summer months. Facilities include camp sites, a day-use beach and a snack shack, small shopping center and recreation cabins,  an outdoor amphitheater for movies,  visitor center, a marina with boat, kayak, and paddle board rentals, fishing and swimming areas.
