Pinecrest lake is a popular and fun summer destination for camping, hiking and recreation. The Campground is open from April through October depending on weather conditions. Pinecrest features a large campground popular for family’s and groups and even has a small outdoor theater featuring current movies. The lake has a day-use beach and a marina where visitors can rent boats or launch there own small water craft.  Non camping visitors have the option to rent  recreation cabins close to the lake as well. The Pinecrest Lake National Recreation trail is a mid level four mile hike around Pinecrest Lake, be sure to bring water on hot days as there is no water available along the way During the winter months Pinecrest lake is drained nearly 90% and visitors can walk the lake bed which is usually covered in ice and snow. Destination Pine Crest Lake

Pinecrest Lake sits at an elevation of 5600 ft. right off of CA Highway 108. It is approximately 30 miles from Sonora and just below the town of Strawberry. Pincers lake is a popular camping destination and is the largest camp ground in the area. The recreation areas surrounding the lake and camp ground are both popular with locals and visitors and the lake can be very crowded during the peak summer months. Facilities include camp sites, a day-use beach and a snack shack, small shopping center and recreation cabins,  an outdoor amphitheater for movies,  visitor center, a marina with boat, kayak, and paddle board rentals, fishing and swimming areas. Iron Stone

Ironstone takes its name from the impossibly hard schist and limestone formations from which the winery’s foundation and companion caverns were blasted and drilled.  Ironstone Vineyards is much more than a winery, the grounds cover approximately 100 acres and includes a large entertainment complex, tasting room and a museum that is surrounded by some spectacular gardens, wedding grounds, trails and a pond all of which seem picture perfect. The outdoor amphitheater can seat approximately  6000 guests  and features a summer concert lineup that includes some of the areas best entertainment.  Wine tasting and a deli are available during the day as well as a shop where some foods and gift items can be purchased.
